Holland decided to do a funny face picture without telling the rest of the family. This is my favorite picture!

Friday Night Lights

I live in Friday Night Lights. I have laughed since I moved here about how much this town gets into football. In Utah football is fun for the High School kids. Sometimes for Homecoming you will see some alumni but mostly it's the High School kids that go. Here...well it is a TOWN event. The day begins with all the kids going to school for 2 hours. Yes it is a little weird that they go at all really. The Middle School goes to each class for 15 min. All 8 of their classes for 15 min. each. That I think is a waist but who am I to argue. Then The older kids get out at 10:30 am and the younger...umm ELEMENTARY SCHOOL kids get out at 11:30am. They all come home all pumped up for the Homecoming parade that happens at 2pm. We got lunch and headed out.
The kids love the parade because all of the kids that are in it throw candy out to the kids on the curb who all have sacks to put the candy in. This is a prehalloween party really because we come home with enough candy to give out at the end of the month or in my case eat all of it before the end of the month only to get some more to eat! This year though the candy was taken away. The city counsel decided that it was dangerous to throw the candy because the kids all ran out into the street to get it. So the candy was to be handed out. That really didn't work. My kids only got a small handful and came home very disappointed. Bummer. No candy for me.

After the parade Brittin took off with her friends to have a bit of a tail gait party and go to the game. Chloe went to a friends house to play. Holland went to her little friend Lydia's house for the evening and I went home to relax with Dominick. The day ended great and everyone was happy. I love living in Friday Night Lights. This is a great little town! I love it here!

I just noticed all of my pictures are of the parade and not of my kids. So here is the parade! Good mom!
Brittin and her friends Grace, Kacey, Ella, and Catherine. Notice Brittin is still the shortest of the group. She looks like their little sister!

People lining the street just waiting to see all the football players and cheerleaders. Oh and the homecoming queen!

No parade in Kearney would be complete without at least 1 tracker. We had 2 this year!

This was the cutest little girl. She was cruising down main street doing 360's in her little Barbie hot wheels car. Made me laugh so hard!

I love this town!
