Movie Night

For the last several years Shawn has had to work weekends. It is always hard when he is gone, but it is especially hard on the weekends. The kids are all home and it is the time when we all can spend time together as a family. So I had to find something to help keep their minds off of Shawn being gone. Thus Friday night movie night. Rules...according to Dominick we ALWAYS have to have pizza. Movie night just isn't movie night to him unless we have pizza with it. We have had a few movie nights that I have made something else, but Dominick is always disappointed. He always reminds me "Mom but it's movie night. We have to have pizza." So for him I really try to make sure we have it. Second rule...everyone is home by 5. This is so we can get started. It is really a movie marathon. We start one movie and as soon as we are done we start another one right away. This is so fun. My kids love it and I love watching them laugh. Movies for little ones always go for the easy laugh...a fart or a burp is always in there somewhere and when it happens, Dominick and Holland start laughing so hard they almost fall off of the couch. It is so much fun. This has become a tradition with us. I think it will always be this way. We love being together. This is what I have always wanted. Activities that we all can enjoy and want to be home for. Unfortunately Shawn is a bit jealous of movie night and wants to be apart of it. I keep reminding him that summer is coming and we can change the night for him....provided Dominick will let us.

I love my kids so much and I plan to savor every moment I can get with them. I am so grateful to be a Mom. I love the memories we are creating as a family. These years are so precious and I am grateful for them.
